"Her favorite food was lasagna and her favorite book was Love in the Time of Cholera…” -Ted Mosby
Looked at the back of my book and read the summary on the back and noticed a few similarities.
"In their youth, Florentino Ariza and Fermina Daza fell passionately in love. When Fermina eventually chooses to marry a wealthy, well-born doctor, Florentino is devastated, but he is a romantic. As he rises in his business career he whiles away the years in 622 affairs-yet he reserves his heart for Fermina. Her Husband dies at last, and Florentino purposefully attends the funeral. Fifty-one years, nine months, and four days after he first declares his love for Fermina, he will do so again.
Back in season one they told us how the show would end when they showed us Ted’s favorite book. Two people fall in love in their youth, but one of them marries another. They never lose their feelings for each other and years later, when the spouse dies, they decide to try again… This fucking show.
Not to mention, you’ll notice that’s also the book Ted’s reading when he finally meets the mother.
